The Nissan Silvia debuted in 1975 as the S10, a compact rear-drive coupe sold alongside Datsun's mainstream range. Across five chassis codes it grew from a budget sports car into a serious performance machine, and in its S13, S14 and S15 forms it became the definitive grassroots drifting platform — cheap, light, strong and endlessly tunable.

Generations and evolution

S10 and S110 (1975–1983)

The first two generations were compact, restrained coupes that shared running gear with Nissan's everyday cars, establishing the Silvia as an affordable rear-drive sports model.

S12 (1983–1988)

A sharper, more angular design offered with turbo and a range of engines; exported as the Nissan 200SX and, later, the 180SX fastback.

S13 (1988–1994)

The breakthrough generation. Its light, balanced chassis and strong KA/CA/SR engines made it a drift and time-attack favourite; sold in North America as the 240SX.

S14 and S15 (1993–2002)

Successive refinements with more power and better aero. The S15, sold mainly in Japan, Australia and New Zealand, is the one most drifters and collectors chase.

Design language and the silhouette

The Silvia's appeal is its proportions: a long hood, a compact cabin and pop-up or fixed headlamps depending on generation, all wrapped in a light, balanced package that rewards a driver. Because we cut every Tinvibe piece from 2 mm steel to the car's true outline, the traits that make the Nissan Silvia recognizable — its roofline, stance and key details — are exactly what the metal keeps, in matte black powder coat across five sizes from 50 cm to 140 cm.

Production, sales and availability

Nissan has not published a single combined Silvia total across all five generations, so we avoid quoting one. The S-chassis is long out of production, which is exactly why clean examples and parts support remain so strong in the drift scene.

The Silvia in the Tinvibe collection

We cut the Nissan Silvia as a laser-cut steel silhouette in five sizes from 50 cm to 140 cm, finished in matte black powder coat. The designs below are drawn from our catalogue for this nameplate.
